Engineering takes creativity, imagination and great problem-solving abilities. With Sylvan's Engineering courses in Wyoming, now is the time for future engineers to develop these important skills — and have fun with new friends as they do so! We appreciate that kids like to tinker with toys, gadgets and other devices to figure out how they work, so our sessions emphasize real challenges in mechanics and architecture. Your child will work with a buddy to build and redesign different structures every week, getting to grips with crucial concepts in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) along the way. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
The Sylvan Experience
Your local Sylvan in Wyoming has a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1 — and a maximum class size of 12 students per class —in order to ensure learning is both personal and attentive. We also consolidate that one-on-one attention with a varied assortment of collaborative and independent tasks, helping kids stay engaged (and motivated!) with a blend of learning methods that are proven to be effective.
We think there's no better way to understand engineering concepts and principles than by using them to solve real-life challenges. That's why our weekly sessions are based around designing and building LEGO® machines and K'NEX® structures. And it doesn't end with the building: students discover how to test their creations, redesign them using the principles they've learned, and take part in friendly competitions with classmates' constructions. In other words, the budding mechanic, engineer or architect in your life will always be fully supported, motivated and engaged at Sylvan — so don't be surprised when your son or daughter can't stop talking about bridges, race cars and other exciting hands-on projects!
