Engineers need to be problem solvers with plenty of creativity and imagination. There's never been a better time for future engineers to develop these skills — and have a blast doing it — with Sylvan's Engineering courses in Wyoming. We know how kids dismantle toys, gadgets and other devices (and put them back together… hopefully!), so we design our sessions to explore real-world architectural and mechanical challenges. Every week, students buddy up with friends to build structures, test them, and rebuild them better, learning vital STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) as part of the process. After all, learning doesn't feel like a frustration when it's a lot of fun at the same time!
What to Expect at Sylvan
With no more than 12 students in each class and a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1, you can expect a personal and attentive learning experience at your local Sylvan center in Wyoming. To that personal attention we add a mix of collaborative tasks and self-directed activities, helping to motivate and engage kids with a variety of proven learning techniques.▼
Let's Get Hands-On
There's no better way to learn engineering concepts than by applying them to real-life challenges. Using LEGO® and K'NEX®, our students conceive and build new machines and structures every week. And the learning doesn't end once building is finished: students also learn how to test their creations, entering them in friendly contests and redesigning them according to the new principles learned. In other words, we're here to support, engage and excite the young engineer, mechanic or architect in your life — so don't be surprised if bridges, race cars and other projects become the topic of conversation in your home!
