Engineers need to be problem solvers with plenty of creativity and imagination. With engineering courses in Texas from Sylvan, it's a great time for budding engineers to work on these skills — and have an unforgettably fun experience as they do so! Kids love to figure out how toys, gadgets and other devices work, so our sessions are built around real-life mechanical and architectural challenges. Working with a buddy, your child will build and test new structures every week, mastering 21st century STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) as they go. After all, learning doesn't feel like a frustration when it's a lot of fun at the same time!
We're Here to Make a Real Difference
With a maximum of 12 students per class — and a student-teacher ratio of 6:1 — learning is a personal experience at your local Sylvan in Texas. We combine that personal attention with team activities and independent tasks, helping kids stay engaged and motivated with a diverse blend of learning methods.▼
Getting Hands-On with Important Concepts
There's no better way to learn engineering concepts than by applying them to real-life challenges. That's why we present our students with new LEGO® and K'NEX® building activities every week. And the building part is only the start: students learn how to test their creations, entering them in friendly contests against competing teams and implementing the new design principles they've mastered. Very simply, our goal is to guide and motivate your budding engineer, mechanic or architect — so you shouldn't be surprised when race cars, bridges and other engaging projects become your son or daughter's preferred topic of conversation!
Creative learning starts here! Our Engineering courses in Texas feature:
- Hands-on sessions: Many of our programs are based around the latest interactive, app-based learning — but this is all about getting practical and learning by doing.
- STEM-first learning: The modern world needs people with modern skills, so there's no better time for your child to start building a skill set fit for the 21st century.
- Teamwork: Collaborative tasks help students learn how to work together and communicate more effectively.
- Email updates: We'll send you an email after each session with photos and summaries, as well as a preview of upcoming projects.
