Engineers need strong technical abilities and know-how, as well as creative problem-solving skills and plenty of imagination. With Sylvan's Engineering courses in Texas, there's never been a better time for budding engineers to enhance these skills — and have a blast doing it! Kids love to figure out how toys, gadgets and other devices work, so we tailor our sessions to explore real-world challenges in architecture and mechanics. Working with a buddy, your child will build and test new structures every week, mastering 21st century STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) as they go. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
Discover the Sylvan Difference
With no more than 12 students in each class and a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1, you can expect a personal and attentive learning experience at your local Sylvan in Texas. To that personal attention we add a mix of collaborative tasks and self-directed activities, helping to motivate and engage kids with a variety of proven learning techniques.
It's Time to Get Hands-On
There's no better way to learn engineering concepts than by applying them to real-life challenges. That's why we present our students with new LEGO® and K'NEX® building activities every week. And they don't only build objects: they also learn how to test them, compete in friendly classroom competitions, and redesign their creations using all the principles they've mastered. In other words, you can count on us to engage, support and excite the budding engineer, architect or mechanic in your family — so expect race cars, bridges and other stimulating projects to become the main topic of conversation during your car rides together!
