Engineering takes creativity, imagination and great problem-solving abilities. Sylvan's Engineering courses in Ohio give budding engineers the chance to build these types of skills — and have a whole lot of fun as they do! Kids love to work out what makes toys, gadgets and devices tick, so our sessions are tailored to explore and examine real mechanical and architectural challenges. Your child will team up with a buddy to build, test and optimize various objects and structures every week, mastering critical 21st century STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) along the way. After all, it's so much easier to engage in learning if it happens to be great fun as well!
Discover the Sylvan Difference
Your local Sylvan center in Ohio has a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1 — and a maximum class size of 12 students per class —in order to ensure learning is both personal and attentive. We also consolidate that one-on-one attention with a varied assortment of collaborative and independent tasks, helping kids stay engaged (and motivated!) with a blend of learning methods that are proven to be effective.▼
Getting hands-on with real-world engineering challenges is the best way to master the fundamentals. Using LEGO® and K'NEX®, our students conceive and build new machines and structures every week. And they don't only build them: they also test them, enter them into friendly competitions and redesign them using the new principles they've learned. In other words, we're here to support, engage and excite the young engineer, mechanic or architect in your life — so don't be surprised if bridges, race cars and other projects become the topic of conversation in your home!
