Engineers need to be problem solvers with plenty of creativity and imagination. Sylvan's Engineering courses in Nebraska give budding engineers the chance to build these types of skills — and have a whole lot of fun as they do! Kids love to figure out how toys, gadgets and other devices work, so we tailor our sessions to explore real-world challenges in architecture and mechanics. Each week, your child will buddy up with a friend to learn important STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) by building, testing and redesigning various structures and objects. After all, kids engage in learning a lot more when it happens to be fun and enjoyable too!
The Sylvan Difference
With a maximum of 12 students per class — and a student-teacher ratio of 6:1 — learning is a personal experience at your local Sylvan in Nebraska. We combine that personal attention with team activities and independent tasks, helping kids stay engaged and motivated with a diverse blend of learning methods.
It's Time to Get Hands-On
Getting hands-on with real-world engineering challenges is the best way to master the fundamentals. That's why our students are presented with new and exciting LEGO® and K'NEX® building activities each week. And once these creations have been built, students test them, enter them in friendly contests and tweak their design to include the new ideas and principles they've learned. In other words, the budding mechanic, engineer or architect in your life will always be fully supported, motivated and engaged at Sylvan — so don't be surprised when your son or daughter can't stop talking about bridges, race cars and other exciting hands-on projects!
