Engineering demands not only strong problem-solving abilities, but also lots of creativity and imagination. Sylvan's Engineering courses in Nebraska give budding engineers the chance to build these types of skills — and have a whole lot of fun as they do! Kids love to work out what makes toys, gadgets and devices tick, so our sessions are tailored to explore and examine real mechanical and architectural challenges. Working with a buddy, your child will build and test new structures every week, mastering 21st century STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) as they go. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
The Sylvan Difference
With no more than 12 students in each class and a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1, you can expect a personal and attentive learning experience at your local Sylvan center in Nebraska. To that personal attention we add a mix of collaborative tasks and self-directed activities, helping to motivate and engage kids with a variety of proven learning techniques.▼
Engaging Young Minds and Hands
The most effective way to understand critical engineering concepts is to use them to overcome real-life challenges. Using LEGO® and K'NEX®, our students conceive and build new machines and structures every week. And once these creations have been built, students test them, enter them in friendly contests and tweak their design to include the new ideas and principles they've learned. Very simply, our goal is to guide and motivate your budding engineer, mechanic or architect — so you shouldn't be surprised when race cars, bridges and other engaging projects become your son or daughter's preferred topic of conversation!
