Sylvan EDGE will give kids the chance to get hands-on experience with things like designing their own video games and programming real robots to enter into friendly competition with classmates. With Sylvan EDGE Programs, You Can Expect:

  • Robotics: During each session, your child will work with a partner to build a LEGO® robot, putting real science and engineering concepts to use (and having fun!) along the way. Then the “bot” can be brought to life using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo™ software and entered into friendly competition against other teams.
  • Engineering: Engineers have the potential to change the world-- one idea at a time. The key is to make sure kids have positive experiences with engineering at a young age, so they’re inspired to think big. Kids complete fun, hands-on challenges, like building simple machines or designing bridges. Every session has a different theme to inspire kids to be creative as they experiment with STEM concepts.
  • Coding: Using kid-friendly Tynker™ technology, our program helps kids develop strong problem-solving, logic and computational skills as they create characters, sounds, special effects and animations. Your child will come up with mini-stories and learn the skills to design a video game to play with friends. You’ll also receive a link to your child’s weekly project so you can share his or her exciting progress with everyone you know.
  • Math Edge: Our math skills program is more than repetitive drills—its fun, interactive format helps kids think independently and encourages difficult math concepts to stick. The result? Better problem-solving skills and more confidence, not to mention a whole lot of fun and friendship.
