It takes imagination, problem-solving and a great deal of creativity to be a successful engineer. There's never been a better time for future engineers to develop these skills — and have a blast doing it — with Sylvan's Engineering courses in Florida. We appreciate that kids like to tinker with toys, gadgets and other devices to figure out how they work, so our sessions emphasize real challenges in mechanics and architecture. Each week, your child will buddy up with a friend to learn important STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) by building, testing and redesigning various structures and objects. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
The Sylvan Difference
Your local Sylvan center in Florida has a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1 — and a maximum class size of 12 students per class —in order to ensure learning is both personal and attentive. We also consolidate that one-on-one attention with a varied assortment of collaborative and independent tasks, helping kids stay engaged (and motivated!) with a blend of learning methods that are proven to be effective.▼
Getting Hands-On with Important Concepts
There's simply no better way to master the fundamentals of engineering than by applying them to real-life tasks and challenges. That's why our students are presented with new and exciting LEGO® and K'NEX® building activities each week. And once these creations have been built, students test them, enter them in friendly contests and tweak their design to include the new ideas and principles they've learned. In other words, the future mechanic, architect or engineer in your life is sure to be engaged and excited at Sylvan — just don't be surprised if dinner conversation is dominated by bridges, race cars and other hands-on projects!
