It takes imagination, problem-solving and a great deal of creativity to be a successful engineer. With Sylvan's Engineering courses in Florida, young engineers have a great opportunity to enhance these skills — and have fun while they do it! Kids love to figure out how toys, gadgets and other devices work, so our sessions are built around real-life mechanical and architectural challenges. Your child will team up with a buddy to build, test and optimize various objects and structures every week, mastering critical 21st century STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) along the way. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
Discover the Sylvan Difference
With no more than 12 students in each class and a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1, you can expect a personal and attentive learning experience at your local Sylvan center in Florida. To that personal attention we add a mix of collaborative tasks and self-directed activities, helping to motivate and engage kids with a variety of proven learning techniques.▼
Engaging Young Minds and Hands
Engaging with practical, hands-on engineering challenges is the most effective way to master the most important concepts. That's why our students are presented with new and exciting LEGO® and K'NEX® building activities each week. And they don't only build objects: they also learn how to test them, compete in friendly classroom competitions, and redesign their creations using all the principles they've mastered. In other words, the future mechanic, architect or engineer in your life is sure to be engaged and excited at Sylvan — just don't be surprised if dinner conversation is dominated by bridges, race cars and other hands-on projects!
