Engineers need to be problem solvers with plenty of creativity and imagination. With Sylvan's Engineering courses in Arizona, young engineers have a great opportunity to enhance these skills — and have fun while they do it! We appreciate that kids like to tinker with toys, gadgets and other devices to figure out how they work, so our sessions emphasize real challenges in mechanics and architecture. Every week, your child will partner with a friend to build, test and redesign structures, mastering important STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering and math) along the way. After all, learning is so much more engaging when it's a whole lot of fun as well!
We're Here to Make a Real Difference
Learning becomes a personal and attentive experience at your local Sylvan center in Arizona, where classes have no more than 12 students and the maximum student-to-teacher ratio is 6:1. We combine our one-on-one approach with a tailored blend of self-guided and collaborative tasks, helping kids stay interested and motivated with diverse learning methods.▼
Engaging Young Minds and Hands
Getting hands-on with real-world engineering challenges is the best way to master the fundamentals. That's why our weekly sessions are based around designing and building LEGO® machines and K'NEX® structures. And the learning doesn't end once building is finished: students also learn how to test their creations, entering them in friendly contests and redesigning them according to the new principles learned. In other words, the future mechanic, architect or engineer in your life is sure to be engaged and excited at Sylvan — just don't be surprised if dinner conversation is dominated by bridges, race cars and other hands-on projects!
Our Engineering courses in Arizona focus on creativity, and also feature:
- Hands-on sessions: Many of our programs are based around the latest interactive, app-based learning — but this is all about getting practical and learning by doing.
- STEM-first learning: The modern world needs people with modern skills, so there's no better time for your child to start building a skill set fit for the 21st century.
- Teamwork: Collaborative tasks help students learn how to work together and communicate more effectively.
- Email updates: We'll send you an email after each session with photos and summaries, as well as a preview of upcoming projects.
