Let STEM Take You Further

STEM is known for being an area where the brightest minds achieve innovative and cutting edge things — and our STEM programs are no exception. Sylvan EDGE gives kids the opportunity to get hands-on experience in a variety of exciting activities, like designing their very own video game and programming a robot to enter into friendly competition against other kids. You can rest easy knowing your child is developing 21st century skills and also making great friends along the way!

Sylvan EDGE Programs in Manitoba Include:

  • Robotics: In each session, your child will work with a buddy to build a LEGO® robot, learning science and engineering concepts (and having fun!) along the way. Once it's ready, the "bot" can be brought to life using LEGO® Education's award-winning WeDo™ software and entered into friendly games against other teams.
  • Coding: Our coding program helps kids develop important problem-solving, logic and computational skills as they create characters, sounds, special effects and animations using kid-friendly Tynker™ technology. Your child will create mini-stories and gain the skills to design a video game that he or she can play with friends. You'll even get a link to your child's weekly project so you can see and share his or her amazing progress.
  • Engineering: Engineers have the power to transform the world — one idea at a time. The key is giving children fun experiences with engineering when they’re young, so they’re inspired to think big. Kids take on fun, hands-on challenges, such as building simple machines or designing amazing bridges. Every session has a creative theme to inspire kids as they experiment with important STEM concepts.
  • Math Edge: You won't find any repetitive drills in our math skill program, which features a fun, interactive, collaborative format where brain-boosting activities help kids think independently and make math concepts stick. The result? Stronger problem-solving skills, greater confidence and a whole lot of fun and friendship.
